Warli Painting Indian Traditional Art

  Originating in the state of Maharashtra, Warli painting stands as the most excellent example of folk paintings in India. This style of tribal painting was started in the early 10th century AD, mostly by the tribal group from the North Sahyadri Range in Maharashtra. The art is still practiced today in cities such as  Dahanu , Jawhar,  Talasari ,  Mokhada , Palghar, and Vikramgad of Palghar district.
